Jan Resnick, PhD

Dr Resnick is a psychotherapist based in Perth, Western Australia where he has lived with his family since 1990.  He grew up in New York, and completed a Bachelors Degree in Music & Philosophy before moving to London where he undertook professional training.

Jan Resnick was involved with training and practice in the UK for 17 years including a year living in France.  He completed his PhD which was based on working psychotherapeutically with difficult to treat physical and psychosomatic disorders.  His dissertation was called The Psychosomatic Metaphor and subtitled The Poetics of Healing.

Dr Resnick has had a distinguished career during his tenure in Australia including 18 years as Director of Training of The Churchill Clinic, which he also founded. 

The Clinic was a Registered Training Organisation and later became a charity responsible for the professional clinical training of counsellors and psychotherapists.  He was founding President of the Psychotherapists & Counsellors Association of Western Australia (Inc.) where he received an Outstanding Achievement Award after serving on the Board for 10 years.  He was also involved in the formation of the Psychotherapists & Counsellors Federation of Australia.

He has been on the Editorial Advisory Board of the national journal Psychotherapy in Australia since its second issue in 1993.  And he has over 60 publishing credits before writing his first ebook.
